Dualchas Architects, the sister company of HebHomes, have won the coveted Silver Medal at the Saltire Housing Awards.
In a ceremony held in Edinburgh Dualchas picked up awards for the house at Boreraig and the church at Garve. Announcing the main prize Dick Cannon, guest chair and founding member of legendary Glasgow practice Elder + Cannon said:
'The medal this year has been awarded not to a building, but to a practice for two exceptional projects. These represent the work of a studio taking on relatively modest projects and going full tilt to push the boundary of their own skill and to enrich the lives of their clients’
Dualchas partners Neil and Alasdair Stephen collected the medal on behalf of the practice. Alasdair said:
'Both these projects had wonderful clients and excellent contractors. That is how beautiful buildings are delivered. By working together good architecture can be created that will be enjoyed by the occupants, but also contribute to the culture of our country. We are absolutely delighted that our practice, the contractors and - most importantly - fantastic clients, have been rewarded by the Saltire Society.'
